Catching Fire

I am currently reading Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins as my independent reading book. This book is so good and I just dont want to put it down! An interesting part is when the rich people living in the Capitol are having a victory feast for the winning tributes Peeta and Katniss while they are on their Victory Tour.  There is so much food at the dinner that Katniss is afraid she won't get to taste it all. She spots these glasses filled with liquid on a table and says, "'You mean this will make me puke?' My prep team laughs hysterically. 'Of course, so you can keep eating,' says Octavia." I find this quote to be quite interesting because there are starving people back in the Districts and these snobby, rich people are just wasting food. I think it is extremely selfish of them to completely waste good food and turning it into vomit just for their pleasure, when that food could save someone back in the poor Districts from starvation.

What makes an individual powerful?

February 23, 2012
An individual can become powerful when that person takes risks and has confidence. For instance, I got my power of queen for a while when I took the risk of helping with Duncan's murder. By doing this, my husband and I were able to steal the throne and gain the power ourselves. It takes guts, leadership and most of all confidence in yourself to be powerful because that is the only way people will take you seriously, which gives you power. There are different types of power. Good power and bad power. I chose the bad, evil power because that is just the kind of person that I am. I dont need a good concious because all that I'm after is the power. So that being, I would do anything for it, even murder someone like you know. However, there is good power. To get good power, an individual must be respectful to earn other peoples respect. A powerful person has courage and strength either physicly, mentally or both. How that individual chooses to use their power is up to them. In my opinion, you should be selfish with it.

Born Good

Februay 19, 2012

In my strongest opinion, I believe that man is  born good and innocent, and that society is the cause to evil. Nature is also an influence on evil because my surroundings is nature, and that caused me to turn evil. I used to nuture my loved ones, but then i realized power was more important to me than taking care of others.  I know that  am an evil woman, but I would not be the devilious woman I am today if it werent for society changing me. For instance, I turned completely evil when I was informed of the Witches' prophecies. When I heard my husband Macbeth was going to be king in the future, I made sure it would happen by planning Duncan's murder. I was power hungry and took my ambition too far. I am partly responsible for the murder, even though I did not do it myself. Babies are born innocent and good, but as they grow they are affected by the people around them, making them either good or evil. I, myself am an evil woman. I will not deny this because I know it is true. But I do  know that when I was younger I was not evil. I was a very good and innocent girl who was afraid of a lot but never took actions to protect myself. However, things changed as I grew older and wanted more out of life. I thought the only way to be happy was to be in charge of everyone. This meant that I needed to be queen and my husband king. Once I heard  about  the prophecies, I knew that if it was ever going to happen, I would need to take action and do it myself. So that is exactly what Idid. Society caused me to help with Duncan's murder causing me to turn evil. This proves that man is born innocent and good, but can change to evil when influenced by society.

Sincerely,
LADY MACBETH

Movie Murders

February 17, 2012

As i look at this strange black screen, I cant help but feeling confused. How am I supposed to carry out my evil plans when all this technology lets people keep an eye on me at every moment of every day? I still lead my husband Macbeth in everything he does. He just cant seem to build up the courage and bravery into planning these murders himself. We are going to a movie tonight, titled "Twilight". I heard that this involved vampires so I am looking forward to seeing the bloody killings by the immortals on the human beings. If anyone comes in my way tonight, they will not see the daylight because I am capable of devilious things. No one will step in my way, and thats a fact. Oh, and if any little children cry during the movie, I will personally run through the black theatre, grab the disruptive child, and bash their brains out. Let that be a warning to all of you who are thinking of attending the movie tonight. It would be in your best in your best interest to leave the little ones at home, unless you wish to lose your child tonight.
